12:30 am

Too close to call in most states where the polls have closed.
My own homestate of Ohio, which Omelletteville calls the vagabond of America?
Too close to call. Thanks, Ohio.

Bush 36
Kerry 3

8:01

Bush 66
Kerry 77

Not too shabby, but a long way to go.

9:39

Bush 171
Kerry 112
Murph 6 beers but running low

Bush is leading, but Ohio Penn & Florida are open. That's the trifecta, baby. From what I gather, Kerry's going strong in Penn.

And yes, I know issue 1, at least in Ohio, which was a scam at first seeing there were 2 issue 1s, and from my understanding, gay marrige became issue 2, maybe I'm wrong, not sure how they worked it out. But I see no problem with it. No bitching About that now. We'll save it for later along with Niel Boortz.

9:55

Bush 171
Kerry 112
Murph 7 beers

Local news coverage is horrible. Please stay away from it at all costs. That's why you have cable.

10:12 PM

Omelettville checking in... and I'm not quite sure what the score is anymore. Murph and I are pretty-much drunk and watching the Daily Show Special.

Here's the score that matters most right now:
Number of beers left in the Larkins Way Election HQ: 0

We've gotta make a move soon.

My only other observation is that Tucker Carlson is a douchebag.

More to come...

Bush 207
Kerry 199
Murph & Omelletteville 6 beers found 4 drunk 12 bought

Ohio & Florida unaccounted for... but not great.
Fox news: Bush 210 Kerry 144

The midwest should belong to Kerry. If not,

An open letter to the midwest:
Hey guys, you ready to get fucked another 4 years? I hope.
Love,
Murph

Bedtime.

I think I am disowning Ohio as my birth state.

Sad day for Ohio and the rest of the country. I guess people in Ohio like unemployment, high cost health, war and in general a lousy life style.

Personally, I hope that this election has finally given our elected officials the "insight" to change and improve the manner in which we elect our presidents.

On a more somber note, during my morning coffee, I found myself in deep reflection, looking back upon the history of our country in general and particularly in my lifetime.

Our country has survived the Civil War, WWs I&2, and all the other battles we waged. We have survived the Great Depression and many a recession. We have survived the end of our great industrial revolution and the death knell to our once world class steel industry. We survived Prohibition. We survived Viet Nam, the '68 election, the resignation of a vice president, Watergate, and the resignation of our President, all in a narrow span of years. We have survived Zippergate and the almost impeachment of another president. We have survived the assasination of several presidents. We have survived the Grant, Harding, Nixon years (feel free to add your own "favorites'), so I trust that our country will get through these times.

But what I cannot remember in my lifetime is the ability of a political party to "use" so effectivly the morals and mores of a group of people to change the ground rules of how a president is chosen, from political reasons to choosing a president on "religious" beliefs. Our founding fathers knew the wisdom of the separation of Church and State. Today we can see the inexplicable blending of the two in forming the laws of our land.

We, as a nation, are becoming less tolerant of those who are "different" or those who we think "may" be a danger. The terrorists wanted to "change" and hurt America through that horrendous attack on 9/11. They suceeded. We have willingly given up many personal freedoms guaranteed under the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, in the mistaken belief that this will "protect" our counrty.

We have used 9/11 as a reason to invade, on false grounds, a country that posed no threat to our national security.

We are turning into a repressive society and we are letting it happen with eyes right open, and with our approval and blessing. A trend is developing here which will have far reaching effects on every citizen of our great country.

We condemn those who do not hold with our religious beliefs and no longer want to care for our needy. We are becoming a nation of "everyone but the pigs", a nation of"haves and have nots".

I won't be here to see how far things will deteriorate before the backlash happens. When the "haves" become the "have nots" and bad laws affect the "haves" directly things will change again.

We may no longer be the country that the world looked up to, heck, we're not now, but we will survive.

God bless America. God bless us, each and every one!

The last poster sure sounds like a pious republican. Let,s forgive and forget. Georgie spread his hate for the democrates lying, badgering, misrepresenting, caressing the "moral" majority. Georgie did everything to win but will revert to the old George. With control of the House, Senate and the White house we will all be working 12 hours a day, no O/T, at $6.50 an hour to pay for high priced gas, taxes, medicines, food while the CEO's give themselves million dollar bonuses to ship jobs and work overseas. You will note that to save money the big drug companies buy the flu vaccine overseas but when an American tries to ship in Canadian drugs to save money Bush's storm troopers confiscate the shipment. So much for freedom. Enjoy the next four years because you are going to get what you deserve Bush and his buddies.
